Perseid Meteor Shower Watch Party

Kansas Wetlands Education Center - hosting the annual Perseid Meteor Shower Watch Party. FREE, family fun activities include: * Inflatable Planetarium Shows * Luminary Constellation Craft * Glow-in-the-Dark Wiffle Ball * "Moon Dust" footprint photo * Solar System Hats with Great Bend Public Library * Egg-Drop Lunar Landing STEM Challenge * Smore's Bring chairs and blankets to sit out and watch the meteor show at dark! The Perseid shower results when debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet enters the atmosphere. As the particles burn up, they appear as shooting stars radiating from the constellation Perseus. The Perseids occur each year in August.
